Ingrown Toenails

July 26, 2025 admin Comments Off on Ingrown Toenails

Do you know when it’s a good idea to schedule a visit with your Bozeman, Anaconda, and Butte, MT, podiatrists, Drs. Dallin Greene and Nathan Judd? Call Big Sky Foot & Ankle Institute if you have any of these foot and ankle issues.

Ingrown toenails

Ingrown toenails aren’t just painful but may become infected. If you can’t easily free the trapped part of your nail after soaking your foot in warm water for about 15 minutes, call the  Bozeman, Anaconda, and Butte, MT foot doctors. They’ll remove the embedded portion of your nail and prescribe antibiotics if you have an infection.

Bunions

Those bony bumps at the base of your big toes tend to be very painful and make it difficult to find comfortable shoes. Fortunately, your podiatrist can provide treatments the slow the progression of your bunions. If bunions disrupt your life or cause considerable pain, you may benefit from surgery to remove the bumps and realign your toes.

Plantar fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis is a common cause of heel pain. The condition occurs when the tough band of tissue that connects your toes to your heels becomes inflamed. Your foot doctor offers a variety of treatments that can ease plantar fasciitis pain, including night splints, heel cups, physical therapy, corticosteroid injections, and shockwave therapy.

Injuries

Your podiatrist also treats foot and ankle fractures, sprains, strains, and other injuries. Prompt treatment is essential and can reduce the risk of chronic pain or mobility issues. If your injury doesn’t improve after a few days, you’re in severe pain, or can’t put any weight on your foot or ankle, call your podiatrist.

Sports issues

Do you spend too much time on the sidelines because of foot or ankle injuries, shin splints, Achilles tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, or retrocalcaneal bursitis? Injuries and foot and ankle conditions are more likely to occur if you have a gait problem or a foot imbalance. Your foot doctor can offer prescription shoe inserts called orthotics that keep your feet properly aligned and reduce pressure on your bones, ligaments, and tendons.

Other foot and ankle conditions

Podiatrists treat a variety of other foot and ankle conditions, including stubborn toenail fungus, arthritis, hammertoe, and diabetic foot issues.

Do you have a foot or ankle problem? Call your podiatrists at Big Sky Foot & Ankle Institute in Butte, Anaconda and Bozeman, MT, Drs. Dallin Greene and Nathan Judd.
